Pat Tabler, the greatest bases-loaded hitter I ever saw, has a son named Troy who's a freshman at Wright State University, and plays basketball for the Raiders.Troy Tabler, a 6-foot-3 guard, is playing 15.8 minutes a game off the bench, averaging 5 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1 assist a game.
His dad, in a 12-year career with the Cubs, Indians, Royals, Mets and Blue Jays, hit just .282 for his career. But with the bases loaded, he turned into Willie Mays, Ted Williams and Ty Cobb all rolled into one, hitting .489 (43 for 88), with 108 RBIs. Who knows why? He just had a knack for it, I guess.
that is really unbelievable and outstanding to get 108 RBI on 88 at bats with the bases loaded.
